There are always lots of things happening in the garden, especially if you walk quietly and look closely.

Some Roses Beginning to Bloom

A bud of Elle with petals unfurling in a perfect whirlpool.

Sheila's Perfume  blooming with its usual perfection and generosity.

A cluster of erodiums and bacopa under a spirea. Even though the tags say both perennials should be planted in full sun, mine do much better in dappled shade.

This is Crystal Fountain, a group 2 clematis. It is not supposed to do well in my area, but I am glad it does not know it because it is certainly thriving. Sometimes you just have to try things out for yourself no matter what anybody says :)

This and That

'Lykke Dazla'. This bud set in winter, and took a long time opening, so I still don't know if that is going to be its true color.

My front yard: candytuft is blooming everywhere...

...chinese loropetalum are finishing up and double wreath spireas are just beginning. Roses are waking up.

Rosa californica "Frist Dawn". I am hoping it will spread.
